Mother's Day Meal

Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and we’ve got ideas to make sure the mother in your life is treated to a day she won’t forget.  Mother’s Day is THE busiest day of the year in restaurants. Skip the crowds, and serve her a beautiful quality meal at home. Studies show that the average woman spends three years of her life cooking. It’s time for her to take a break.

Why not spoil her with USDA prime rib?  Rib eye is one of the tastiest cuts and we have a special -$7 off per pound, and it’s guaranteed to be some the best beef around. Raised in the USA on diets of grass and hay, it’s then finished on grain. Pair with shrimp, and wow her with surf and turf! We also have Maine Lobster Tails-both regular and jumbo. Four to six ounces, they are fresh from the cold north Atlantic waters that produce the most succulent lobsters you’ll find. You can broil them in the oven, or toss them on the grill.

How about tenderloin filets? Prime, top choice, and dry aged.  Filet mignon is the leanest and most tender beef steak you will find-with just the right amount of marbling.

Need help grilling your beef? About 20 minutes before grilling, remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let sit, covered, at room temperature. Heat your grill to high. Brush the steaks on both sides with oil and season liberally with salt and pepper. Place the steaks on the grill and cook until golden brown and slightly charred, 4 to 5 minutes. Turn the steaks over and continue to grill 3 to 5 minutes for medium-rare (an internal temperature of 135 degrees F), 5 to 7 minutes for medium (140 degrees F) or 8 to 10 minutes for medium-well (150 degrees F). Transfer the steaks to a cutting board or platter, tent loosely with foil and let rest 5 minutes before slicing.

We’ve thought of everything. We also have the sides covered for you. Choose from twice baked potatoes, roasted brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, green bean almondine, or macaroni and cheese. Just heat and serve. Even easier….we have burgundy mushrooms, cilantro lime asparagus, garlic pepper vegetable medley and much more-all ready to go.

Don’t forget dessert! We have mouth -watering two layer carrot cakes fresh from the NC State Farmer’s Market’s famous carrot cake lady! If you haven’t tried these, you’re in for a treat. They are perfectly spiced and baked with fresh carrots then finished with a layer of delicious smooth cream cheese icing that will blow your mind.

All of the ingredients in these meals can be found at The Butcher’s Market.  Check our website for great recipes and tips. We have locations in North Raleigh and Cary. And one more thing…don’t forget to clean up!!
